Welcome!!

Posted by Jen Lee Reeves on September 1, 2008

We’re counting down the days before the big Missouri School of Journalism Centennial and the Reynolds Journalism Institute dedication. I’m trying to be the official coordinator of this blog. Along with 100 new journalism students who are honors freshmen, I hope to have a number of upperclassmen covering the event so you can get a first-hand feel of the experience.

At the same time, I hope to give anyone a chance to tell their stories as members of the journalism community and especially members of the Missouri alumni. If you went to school here, you know we all have an innate ability and need to share our experiences and help others excell in the craft of journalism or strategic communications.

I’ve taken the Missouri Method every place I worked. I  helped, guided and led as best I could as a newscast producer at stations in California and Michigan. Those experiences led me back to the Missouri School of Journalism to teach in the Radio-TV faculty. I’m honored to have the chance to work with future journalists and I’m so proud of the many professionals I’ve had a chance to help lead into the industry. I hope this blog can be a place to learn from each other and offer an outlet for the many conversations during this event September 10-12 (and possibly 13th if you’re going to the football game).
